Transport Clerk Apprenticeship

Duration: 12 months
Hours: 8:30 - 18:30 Monday to Friday (The position may involve working 1 in 5 Saturdays in the future, for which addiotnal pay would be received).
Walkers Transport are looking to recruit a highly motivated and enthusiastic Apprentice Transport Clerk in their small but busy traffic office near Fradley Park in Lichfield. The apprenticeship will be delivered against the Supply Chain Operator (Traffic Office) Level 2 apprenticeship standard.
This is a very busy role involving speaking directly to customers and drivers regarding delivery/collection information. Routing and rerouting drivers will be required where appropriate and managing customer expectations.
Training will be provided for the systems used, excellent communication skills are required, along with a positive attitude and outlook.
Reporting into the Operations Manager, you will be learning on the job to become an effective Traffic Clerk and important part of the team.
A full company uniform is provided along with the statutory pension scheme, and an attendance bonus.
The successful candidate will be trained on the job and will be guided to become an effective Traffic Clerk. Upon completion of the apprenticeship, successful candidates would be expected to remain with the business within the Traffic Clerk role.
Successful candidates will be required to demonstrate the following skills:

- - Excellent telephone manner
- - Computer literate
- - Excellent verbal and written communication
A good level of English and Maths would be advantageous.
Successful candidates will have an enthusiastic and can do attitude, enjoy finding resolutions where required and being part of a small but hard working team.
Excellent time keeping is a must.
